Goldshield technology is ideally suited for use as a decontaminant and a protective shield in a variety of military, first responder and civilian applications, including:

In addition, Goldshield has special military applications related to the possible threat of biological weapons, such as anthrax. In such scenarios, one of the most dangerous aspects is the tendency of the hazardous material to spread, with textiles often the carriers.

NBS has recently developed hybrid formulas combining its patented antimicrobial technology with additional surfactants, designed to be effective against hardy bacteria, fungi and viruses. These products can be used to address the decontamination and mitigation of sites and materials contaminated with anthrax or other biological agents. The additional surfactants act as the first line of disinfection, permitting the antimicrobial component to adhere to a cleaned surface and provide residual protection.
